"Life sweet ,there is nothing else" is the perfect slogan for what we dream for ,what we want to do
and be. But we ‘ve never suceed to think in this way.
It’s related to the “All about Lies” Project.(for furder information please look at the book about this
exhibition) And because of it is a lie it self.
This is a Turkish proverb that directs one towards a carefree and pleasure seeking life style.
This is the term one uses when desiring to avoid all serious problems and to just pass the time
of day peasurably without thinking about anyone else. All negative things are meaningless, but
even if one encounters them, ‘life is beautiful ,forget the rest’ represents the entertainment and
TV culture.

Our workshop around this slogan will again begin in July. Artists working with, thinking
about and producing work related to this subject along with a few sociologists, writers,
journalists and professionals from other disciplines will be invited to participate. A type of
‘Air kitchen’ will emerge as the Turkish and English translations of discussions, talks,
dialogues, arguments, etc., from the workshop process, are attached daily onto the walls
of Apartment Project' s 23 meter square space as pages of scribbled paper and video
documentation on LCD and TV screens.
The space is like an empty page for practice work and the rhythm of the project can be
thought of as pages from a wall notebook. We completed a similar workshop last
summer for the “All About Lies” exhibition. To explain the project, we prepared three
documentary videos:

1. A video related to documentation of the process of the project.
2. A video about the opening and closing
3. An interview with artist’s about their work presented in a manner easily understood
by spectators.
4. A video showing the placement of individual artist’s work within the space.

Since these videos were positively reviewed by spectators (who do not have a
background enabling them to easily understand the artistic process), we are planning to
prepare a similar instruction sheet in the same context for this exhibition.

Using 5 video projectors, In the evenings, films investigating the topic will be projected
on the walls of the Shr Bender Street buildings. During the 10. International Istanbul
Biennial, spectators can sit on street benches to watch the films from 19:00 onwards.
During the daytime, they can view the LCD screens inside the space.
